When I first came to Turkey, I was given no warning about how typical Turkish men would act.

They may screw everything that moves, but they tend to hate women who've been "run through" (defined as any woman who has slept with a man). He's the reason why that stereotype exists in my mind. do you know how the men are concerning women of color romantically??the one i met is very americanized and has many black friends. The guy you know sounds like the type that are increasingly speaking up for a more open-minded Lebanon. He did all this while I was dating the boyfriend as well. I hate bmws anyhow (too boxy) and I wasn't that impressed with all the bragging. I think most posters understand you can't simply make gross generalizations about people. He could get us into some clubs, but he was not someone I should have hung around. In fact, technically, the majority of North Africans, along with Levatine populations (Lebanon, Syria, etc) are not ethnically/truly Arab. You have to take individual character into account. The personality traits of a gentleman, smooth talker, romantic, and extreme flirt are all wrapped together to give you the typical Turkish man.

At first encounter you will be charmed, wooed, and certainly enchanted by his “going-out-of-their-way” hospitality and attention. Some men have ulterior motives, and some will definitely get you into trouble.

I had heard stories of getting lots of extra attention from men if you were naturally blonde or red-headed, but that seemed normal since those are very distinct foreign looks.

Nonetheless, I had a rude awakening about the characteristics of typical Turkish men within the first month I lived in Turkey.

I’m also not trying to create a stereotype about typical Turkish men.

These are simply my experiences in my small city outside of Istanbul.

Some fonts maybe interested in these men and these threads expose them to people who know a thing or two about the culture.
